our story

For nearly a decade, Interiors by LH has created colorful, elegant spaces that feel true to the families that call them home. But we’re not just driven by beautiful design. We also believe in connecting every space to sustainable living through green materials, quality manufacturers, and vintage pieces. 

This commitment to intentional, unique design, inspired by our relationship with nature and the world around us, is why we’re a four-time winner of Best of Houzz for Design and have been featured by Martha Stewart, Good Housekeeping, Home & Design, and the TODAY show.

Laura Hildebrandt

Design Principal

Laura’s design philosophy is informed by her love of nature and travel, the vibrant colors of her Mexican heritage, and the importance of sustainability and incorporating high-quality vintage finds. After receiving her BA from the College of Notre Dame in Maryland and attending Harvard University, Laura embraced her creativity and dove into design full-time.

Laura resides in Northern Virginia with her husband, five children, and their Shih Tzu, Jackie O. She can often be found planning her next getaway, strolling through art museums, including her favorite, the Hirshhorn, and enjoying live music.

Verne is the second-oldest child of Laura, and was raised with a love of art and interest in color and pattern. They offer a younger perspective in both design and social media, making sure the company keeps up with the times.

Outside the office, Verne spends their time thrifting for new fashion pieces and enjoying D.C.'s many museums. They are currently pursuing an education in Interior Design.

Rachel keeps the Interiors by LH office running smoothly. She has a talent for simplifying workflows, reducing friction, and managing the team’s administrative duties.

In her free time, Rachel enjoys unwinding by tending to the flowers in her garden and hanging with her family. She lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, 4 children, Nala the cat, and a leopard gecko named Jimmy.
